This summer, the historic area of the city will be full of food and energy with the return of the annual area-wide block party, Old City Eats.
Set for Thursday, June 5 from 5 to 9 p.m., the 2nd Street corridor between Market and Chestnut Streets will transform into an open-air celebration with plenty of food, fun and flavors to go around.

“Old City Eats is more than just a block party – it’s a celebration of community, culture and cuisine,” said Job Itzkowitz, Executive Director of Old City District. “From international flavors to neighborhood favorites, the event reflects the energy and diversity that make Old City such a special destination. We’re excited to welcome everyone back to one of the most flavorful blocks in the city.”
This year’s Block Party is sponsored by Bacardi, a release notes. Guests 21 and older can enjoy specialty cocktails featuring Bacardi, Patrón and other premium Bacardi brands at participating restaurant locations, plus, tokens can be earned with each Bacardi cocktail and traded for different swag and prizes. Otherwise, food and beverages will be available as pay-as-you-go options—and there’s a whole lot to choose from on that front.
Amada will serve up Spanish tapas, Las Bugambilias will offer traditional and modern Mexican cuisine, Malooga will be the spot for Middle-Eastern specialties, while Nick’s Bar & Grille will offer classic American comfort food and a friendly neighborhood vibe. Other participating locales this summer span 48 Record Bar, Brownie’s Irish Pub, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar, Kyhber Pass Pub, Lucha Cartel, The Plough & the Stars, Positano Coast, Royal Boucherie and Sassafrass, with more possibly to be added before the event date.

The aim of the evening is to provide an experience of diverse eats, seasonal sippers, music, and more, as a bevy of Old City’s top restaurants, bars, and eateries come together for this al fresco occasion.
